There are two ways to make your sliding windows door run smoothly in its track. The first way is the one elaborative one requiring a little effort of removing the door panel from its track and cleaning the wheels and the track. The other way is a much faster and more convenient method whereby one simply cleans the tract of the glass door slider and offering adequate lubrication for it to run smoothly. If performed at regular intervals, the second method is good enough in most cases. If however one is checking the glass door tract after a very long time, the first method of removing the door and cleaning its components may be required.

Clean the sliding glass door track

In order to completely clean the sliding glass door and  remove any obstructions or blockages, one would need to completely dislodge the door from its track before initializing the cleaning process. Remove any curtain or partitions beneath the glass door. Using two hands hold the glass door panel from three fourth lengths from the bottom. Grasping each door panel, push the door so that the wheels at the bottom of the door clear the track. If the door seems too tight to be pulled, one can use a screwdriver to loosen the levels screws at the bottom in order to get the door wheels cleared from the track.

Once the door panel is dislodged completely, place it on an even surface like a table top or sawhorse stool. Clean the wheels at the bottom of the door panels using a wire brush. The wire brush provides effective cleaning process and removes all dirt, hair and other debris that usually gets stuck in the wheels. One can also use a vacuum cleaner to the clean the wheels as well as the door panel on the floor. Applying a non stick lubricant is recommended to provide adequate.
