Door Closer, Can you imagine a front door or a kitchen stair door without a door closer – no, right? A good door closer is not just a convenience because the door closes automatically.
It also helps to extend the life of your door and lock as it closes in a controlled manner each time. At the same time, it helps to raise the fuse significantly as it ensures that the door actually closes once it has been opened.

All door closers must be adjusted and serviced at regular intervals. Even newer door closers that are less sensitive to temperature changes must be adjusted at least once a year so that they close the door as best as possible. When we adjust a door closer, it is important to find the right compromise between closing safety and comfort. If we adjust the door closer too strongly, the door becomes too heavy to open, but in turn closes every time and we adjust it too easily, it is easy to open for the users, but then does not close the door when it is windy. The goal is for the door to close by itself in 98% of cases. If it is very windy, or very cold, it is acceptable for users to help the door closer to close the door.
Door automation
In most cases, you go a long way, with a good ordinary door closer that can close the door automatically. In some cases, however, it is also practical if the door can also open automatically, e.g. for shop doors, frequently used common doors, doors used by people with a mobility impairment, or simply all the doors where you want the comfort of an automatic opening.
This is where door automation comes into the picture.
A door automation can be used in many places and not just to provide access for people with reduced mobility. Door automation is also used extensively on e.g. gates and gates where you have to bring goods or bicycles through, they are used on kitchen doors in restaurants, where staff run in and out with something in their hands all the time and many other places where consideration for work environment or comfort dictates an automated opening of the door.
One of the things to consider when setting up a door closer is who is going to use the door. For certain user groups or use situations, safety sensors are required so that the door does not risk tipping over, e.g. children or weak walking when opening or closing.
In other situations, there is a requirement for the door closer to be able to close by itself, even if the power has gone out. This typically applies to fire doors.
Automatic Fire Door Closure (ABDL)
As a rule, a fire door must always be closed and must not be kept open with hooks, wedges and the like. In some places, however, it is impractical in everyday life and therefore we install ABDL systems which can keep the door open, but which automatically close it if the power goes out or the smoke detector is activated.
Typical areas of application are middle doors in institutions and companies. It is very easy to see if there is a need for an ABDL system on the door: If you observe that a door is kept open by means of an object, such as wedge, chair, stone or the like, there is probably a need.
